A modern Shopify experience that highlights the story, flavor, and feel of every roast.

Schuil Coffee had built a strong reputation around quality and craft, but their digital experience hadn’t kept pace. The existing website was dated both visually and technically, making it difficult to maintain, limiting flexibility, and falling short of the expectations of modern e-commerce. At the same time, key parts of the experience—especially subscriptions—were creating friction for customers and adding complexity behind the scenes.

We partnered with the Schuil team to rethink the experience from the ground up. That started with a modern Shopify foundation—giving them a more stable, scalable platform that’s easier to manage day to day. From there, we focused on simplifying the subscription experience, making it more intuitive for customers while ensuring it worked reliably for the team internally. Every decision was rooted in reducing friction, improving clarity, and making it easier for customers to discover and reorder their favorite coffees.

Visually, we helped evolve the brand into something that reflects where Schuil is going, not just where it’s been. We developed a flexible design system that brings consistency, warmth, and a sense of craft across the entire site—elevating product storytelling while keeping the experience approachable. The result is a refined digital storefront that feels true to Schuil’s identity today, supports their growth moving forward, and gives their team the confidence to manage and evolve the site long after launch.

Built for the way customers actually shop

A significant portion of Schuil’s customers shop on their phones. Whether they’re reordering a favorite roast or browsing for something new. The previous experience made that harder than it needed to be, with clunky navigation, inconsistent layouts, and unnecessary friction throughout the buying process.

We approached mobile as the primary experience, not an afterthought. Every interaction was simplified and streamlined—from navigation and product discovery to subscriptions and checkout. Key actions are easier to find, product information is clearer, and the overall flow is designed for quick, intuitive decision-making on a smaller screen.

The result is a mobile experience that feels fast, clean, and effortless. It reduces friction at every step, supports repeat purchases, and makes it easy for customers to engage with Schuil wherever they are. Whether it’s a quick reorder in the morning or discovering something new on the go.

A better way to bundle great coffee

Schuil’s product lineup offers a wide range of flavors and roasts, but the existing experience didn’t make it easy for customers to explore that variety in a meaningful way. Shoppers were limited to purchasing individual bags, with little guidance or flexibility to try new combinations or build something tailored to their preferences.

We introduced a custom bundle builder designed to change that. The experience allows customers to mix and match coffees, explore new flavors, and create their own curated box—all within a simple, guided flow. It’s flexible enough for seasoned buyers who know exactly what they want, while still being approachable for customers looking to discover something new.

The result is a more engaging and personalized shopping experience that encourages exploration and increases average order value. It gives customers more control, more variety, and more reasons to come back—while giving Schuil a powerful new way to showcase the depth of their product lineup.
